About these terms
By preordering or buying from BLAXXKY, subscribing, or using our website and Substack, you agree to these terms.
BLAXXKY is published by Black Skylabs LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company (”BLAXXKY,” “we,” “us”). These terms cover the print magazine, our website, our Substack publication, and any orders you place with us.
Preorders
Preorders are charged in full at checkout. BLAXXKY Issue No. 1 is expected to ship between March and June 2027.
Ship dates are estimates. As this is our first issue, production delays are possible.
If we can’t ship by the end of June 2027, we’ll email you with a new estimated date and the option to cancel for a full refund.
You can cancel anytime before your order ships for a full refund. Email us with your order details.
If we’re unable to publish the issue, every preorder will be refunded in full.
Orders, pricing, and payment
Prices are in US dollars, and payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
Order limit: Each order is limited to two copies, since shipping is a flat rate per order. For larger orders, email us for a custom quote.
Shipping: Shipping is charged per order and shown at checkout before you pay.
Sales tax: We collect sales tax where required by law. Orders shipped to Texas addresses are subject to Texas sales tax.
Order errors: We may cancel an order with a full refund if it contains a pricing error, appears fraudulent, or goes to an address we can’t ship to.
Shipping and delivery
All orders ship via USPS: Priority Mail within the US, and Priority Mail International everywhere else. International orders are delivered by your local postal service, such as Canada Post or Royal Mail.
Where we ship: We currently ship to the US, Canada, the UK, and Europe. For other countries, email us for a quote. We can’t ship to countries where USPS has suspended international mail service.
Tracking: You’ll receive tracking information by email when your order ships.
Your address: Please make sure your shipping address is correct. If a package is returned because of an incorrect address, we can reship it for an additional shipping fee.
Lost packages: If your order hasn’t arrived within 30 days of shipping (60 days for international orders), contact us and we’ll replace it or refund you.
Delivered packages: A package marked delivered by the carrier is considered delivered. We can’t replace packages lost or stolen after delivery.
International orders: duties and taxes
Prices and shipping don’t include import duties, taxes, or fees. If your country charges them, you pay them directly to your local postal service or customs office, usually before or at delivery.
We can’t refund orders that are refused or left unclaimed because of these charges. Such packages are usually returned or destroyed by the destination country’s postal service.
Returns and refunds
All sales of printed copies are final once shipped, except for damaged or misprinted copies.
Damaged or misprinted copies: Email us within 14 days of delivery with your order details and a photo. We’ll send a replacement or refund you.
How refunds work: Refunds go back to your original payment method. Your bank may take several business days to show them.
Questions or problems: Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank. We’ll do our best to make it right.
Memberships and digital content
Every article from the magazine is free to read on our Substack. Paid memberships are optional and support BLAXXKY’s work.
Billing: Memberships are billed and managed through Substack, and Substack’s terms apply to them.
Cancelling: You can cancel anytime in your Substack account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
Print copies: A paid membership doesn’t include print copies of the magazine unless we say so in a specific offer.
Content and copyright
All articles, artwork, photography, and design in BLAXXKY belong to BLAXXKY or to the individual contributors, and are protected by copyright. The BLAXXKY name and logo belong to us.
What you can do: Read, share links to our articles, and quote short excerpts with credit to BLAXXKY and the author.
What you can’t do: Reproduce, republish, or sell our content, in print or online, without our written permission.
Print copies: Buying a copy gives you ownership of that copy, not the right to reproduce its contents.
Contributors’ views: Opinions in BLAXXKY belong to their authors and don’t necessarily reflect the views of BLAXXKY or its editors.
Comments and community
We welcome discussion, including disagreement. Comments on our Substack follow Substack’s rules and these:
No harassment, threats, hate, or spam.
No posting other people’s personal information.
Don’t post your own address or order details publicly. Email us instead.
We may remove comments or block accounts that break these rules.
Privacy
We collect only what we need to run BLAXXKY, and we never sell your information.
What we collect: Your name, email, shipping address, order details, and, if you join our waitlist, your country and state or province.
How we use it: To process and ship orders, contact you about your order, and send BLAXXKY news if you opted in. You can unsubscribe anytime.
Who we share it with: Only the services that help us operate, such as Stripe (payments), USPS and local postal services (delivery), Substack (subscriptions), and our email and database providers.
Your choices: Email us to see, correct, or delete the information we hold about you.
Disclaimers and liability
BLAXXKY explores the future, space, weird & unknown. Our content is for information and entertainment, not professional, medical, legal, or financial advice.
Our website, Substack, and content are provided “as is.” To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim related to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses.
Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
Governing law, changes, and contact
Governing law: These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming.
Changes: We may update these terms and will post the new version here with its effective date. Changes don’t affect orders already placed.
