BLAXXKY explores the intersections of the future, space, the weird, and unknown.
Contributions can take many forms: research paper, speculative fiction, podcast interview, opinion piece, anomalous experiencer story, fashion, photography, poetry, comic, music, fictional advertisement, code, visual art, and more.
Issue No. 1: Theme, Schedule, How to Submit
BLAXXKY #1: THE FUTURE, SPACE, THE WEIRD & UNKNOWN asks what it means to inhabit an apokalypsis: the unveiling of forces long hidden beneath ordinary perception. From Eros as cosmological force, to consciousness as experimental variable, to time travel already occurring through retrocausal feedback loops. Psi research buried by intelligence agencies. Aliens as inhabitants of adjacent temporal strata rather than distant stars. What fire are we stealing now? And what exactly is being revealed?

Schedule
This first issue will be the hardest to get off the ground. We don't have many paid subscribers yet, so we're running largely on unpaid labor, and things are moving slowly. There's no fixed schedule anymore, but we're aiming to finalize articles around the end of December 2026, for a March to June 2027 shipment date. The issue is nearly complete, yet we're curating a few final contributions. Our open call for articles is mostly closed, but we still welcome visual art/multimedia submissions.
How to Submit
Email proposals to mail@blaxxky.com with your name or pseudonym, a short bio (280 characters) and a longer bio, a waist-up photo in 16:9 ratio (minimum 1920x1080px), and website and/or social media profiles. Bonus points for weird or interesting photo backdrops.
For article proposals, include an abstract (half to one page) and estimated word count. For poetry, comics, and multimedia, attach submissions directly or via a publicly accessible link through a file sharing service.
Interested in being interviewed on BLAXXKY Superluminal? We curate most guests but welcome inbounds: mention it in your email. Note: everyone who writes for us gets interviewed regardless.

Julia Magdalena joins Issue No. 1 as our Editor-in-Residence. A psychotherapist from Polish Silesia, Julia is trained in applied psychology and economics, and her work spans diverse populations and fields. Her writing on The Mind of Cows draws on esoteric study, lived experience, and her own encounters with psychical phenomena.
Lily Beeson joins Issue No. 1 as our Artist-in-Residence. A visual artist and music producer based in Southern California, Lily works across modular synthesis, generative art, and records and produces music for independent artists. Her work explores the convergence of art and technology, the computational nature of existence, and the emerging sounds of the future.
Licensing Terms
We prioritize unpublished work, though simultaneous and previously published submissions are welcome too. Once we publish your work, we hold a non-exclusive license to keep it in that issue (forever, basically, as part of the archive), both in the print magazine we sell and in the free PDF edition. For unpublished work, you’re also granting BLAXXKY first publication rights, with a one-year exclusivity window after we publish.
The PDF edition is released as a zine under a Creative Commons BY-NC-ND 4.0 license, which means anyone can print and share it as long as they keep the credits intact, don’t sell it, and don’t alter it. Because the zine circulates on torrent and p2p networks, that permission can’t be withdrawn once the issue is out. If your work has been published or accepted elsewhere, please make sure you have the rights to share it this way.
We may also pull excerpts, images, bios, or photos for promotional use tied to that issue.

Missed the cut? We always accept proposals on a rolling basis. If we can place it, we'll figure out when and what magazine issue. Email us anytime, following the guidelines above, and expect to hear back within 4-6 weeks.
2026 Contributor Rewards Model
This is a work-in-progress model that we’ll refine after each issue.
Every contributor receives three years of Luminary membership and at least one copy of the print magazine (maybe more, depending on sales). Contributors also earn a share of new subscriber revenue and magazine sales.
Subscriber revenue share
Article, roughly 2,000 words: 10% of paid subscriber fees from readers who subscribe directly from your article, for 12 months from the publication date.
Article, 4,000+ words: 20% of paid subscriber fees from readers who subscribe directly from your article, for 12 months from the publication date.
Subscriber conversions are tracked via Substack, and payouts are quarterly.
Share of magazine sales
20% of an issue’s net profit from the print magazine goes to its contributors, distributed using a weighted point system. Your share of the pool is proportional to your points relative to all contributors in that issue.
Transcribed podcast interview: 2 pts
Previously unpublished article or poem, roughly 2,000-3,500 words or less: 5 pts
Previously unpublished article or poem, roughly 4,000 words or more: 8 pts
Republished article: 2 pts
Art (previously unpublished, mostly AI generated):
Image or graphic: 1 pt each
Video or Song, roughly 30 seconds: 2 pts
Video or Song, 60 seconds or more: 5 pts
Art (previously unpublished, mostly human-made):
Image or graphic: 3 pts each
Video or Song, roughly 30 seconds: 4 pts
Video or Song, 60 seconds or more: 10 pts
Example: If your article earns 5 points out of 100 total points across all contributors, you receive 5% of the contributor pool, which is 5% of 20% of net profit (1% of net profit).
For Issue No. 1, we calculate profit by deducting only printing and shipping costs.
Should we decide to release digital collectibles, the contributors involved will split 33% of net sales using the same point system.
Music & Multimedia Collaboration Splits
In most cases, when BLAXXKY co-produces a music or multimedia project with an artist, proceeds are split as follows:
Artist — 60%
BLAXXKY — 20%
Superluminal Catalyst grants pool of artist’s choice — 20% (artist selects which Superluminal Catalyst pool their share is directed toward, funding technology or science related to the work’s theme)
In equal effort collaborations where both BLAXXKY and the artist are co-leading the creative work, proceeds are split as follows:
Artist — 40%
BLAXXKY — 40%
Superluminal Catalyst grants pool of artist’s choice — 20%
If the artist has collaborators, they can decide how to share their split with them.
